Introduction to Qualitative Analysis and Writing
The qualitative data analysis process from start to finish – from data preparation through to the basics of coding and then writing it up
This is a collection of individual courses that will help you get to grips with the process of analysing and writing-up qualitative analysis. Watch courses in the specific areas you need, or the entire set of courses in sequence – the idea is that you can create your own learning programme from the collection. The self-paced nature of the courses means that you can learn when and where you need.
Individual courses cover the qualitative data analysis process from start to finish – from data preparation (transcription) through to the basics of coding and then writing it all up. The analysis process outlined is a generic one, so if you’d like to get more specific for your own project, there’s a quick overview (with reading list) of the main qualitative data analysis approaches such as thematic analysis, narrative and grounded theory.
There are also courses on how to take your analysis a step further by developing themes and models, and a quick qualitative tips session to help you work more efficiently. We won’t be covering NVivo in this collection of courses (you might like to purchase NVivo Foundations to learn these skills) but we do have a course on using Microsoft Office for qualitative analysis and have included a session on the basics of Excel in case you need to learn these.
